The U.S. Embassy in Yerevan welcomed Armenian friends and partners to celebrate the 249th anniversary of the United States’ independence with its annual 4th of July reception.
The festive occasion was inspired by the iconic American highway Route 66 — stretching from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California and symbolizing freedom, opportunity, and the pursuit of the American dream, the U.S. Embassy said in a press release.
The Embassy’s event featured Route 66-themed décor and elements of American culture, including the modern roadside icon, space cowboy Buck Atom, delicious food and displays of classic vintage cars.
During the event, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien and guest of honor, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, highlighted the strong and enduring partnership between Armenia and the United States. “The U.S.-Armenia partnership is stronger now than it has ever been,” said U.S. Ambassador Kristina Kvien. “I can’t wait to see what our countries can accomplish together as we work to build a future in which our peoples thrive and prosper. With our enduring friendship, our shared strategic goals, and our expanding economic ties, there is no limit to what the United States and Armenia can achieve.”
Guests enjoyed a unique blend of Armenian and American cuisine and live music performed by the NESS Band from Hard Rock Café Yerevan. Renowned Armenian singer Srbuk (Srbuhi Sargsyan) performed the U.S. and Armenian national anthems.
