Prosecutor General of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan received a delegation led by the Prosecutor General of Malta, Victoria Buttigieg.

The Maltese Prosecutor General is visiting Armenia to participate in the two-day high-level international conference titled “Independence and Impartiality of Prosecutors in the Context of Public Prosecution of Officials Who Committed Crimes: Corruption and Money Laundering”, which will begin on July 1, 2025, in Dilijan. The event is being held on the occasion of the 107th anniversary of the establishment of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia and the Day of the Prosecutor's Office Worker.

Anna Vardapetyan welcomed her Maltese counterpart and recalled her visit to Malta last year as part of the 18th European Regional Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), expressing appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by Victoria Buttigieg.

Vardapetyan emphasized that participation in that conference, along with the bilateral meetings and new professional connections made during the event, contributed to enhancing the efficiency of the Armenian Prosecutor’s Office.

The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest.

It should be noted that the conference is organized within the framework of the projects “Support to the Implementation of Judicial and Legal Reforms in Armenia” and “Strengthening National Capacities for Effective Prevention and Combating Economic Crimes in Armenia,” co-financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe’s Partnership for Good Governance program and implemented by the Council of Europe.
