Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan has said that Armenia and Azerbaijan continue talks to resume the border delimitation process.
Speaking at the APRI 2025 forum, Grigoryan said the current talks focus on technical matters.
The most recent meeting on the delimitation issue took place in January 2025 and the deputy PMs of the two countries agreed that the process would continue from the Armenia-Azerbaijan-Georgia border crossing section.
“The negotiations continue at this moment. Technical issues are being discussed on how to continue the delimitation process,” Grigoryan said.
“Armenia is poised to progress and we unequivocally want to have a peace agreement. We often hear opinions arguing that the agreement isn’t in Armenia’s interests, but that is not true, because Armenia wants to sign it,” the Secretary said.
He highlighted the importance of implementing Crossroads of Peace while speaking about the unblocking of the connection routes in the South Caucasus.
The unblocking of connections must be done in adherence to the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction and reciprocity, he said.
Grigoryan said the Crossroads of Peace project has been extensively discussed with the Armenian society and the international community. “We see more and more support for this program, we see greater interest for it. Armenia is ready to continue the work around unblocking as part of that agenda. We will continue to work in this direction and the logic of Crossroads of Peace,” Grigoryan said, ruling out granting extraterritoriality in the territory of the country: He said all infrastructures passing through Armenian territory will be controlled by Armenian authorized bodies.
