Lawmakers elect deputy chair of Foreign Relations Committee

MP Maria Karapetyan (Civil Contract) was elected on Wednesday as Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of Parliament.
After the election, speaking at the session, Maria Karapetyan thanked her team for nominating her.
In her speech, she addressed the expanded role of the Foreign Ministry, which was recently renamed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
Maria Karapetyan said that the change in the ministry’s name should also be reflected in parliamentary activities.
“The change in the ministry’s name is a message that Armenia’s international relations should serve more directly the economic development of our country and the well-being of citizens,” Karapetyan said.
Civil Contract MP Sargis Khandanyan is the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee.
