Anti-Corruption Committee Chairman Artur Nahapetyan reiterated Tuesday that the March 1 case will be investigated comprehensively and impartially.
He was asked about the ongoing case by MP Taguhi Tovmasyan from the Pativ Unem faction.
“The March 1 case is in my focus,” he said. “A joint investigative group of detectives from the Anti-Corruption Committee and the Investigative Committee has been formed and at this moment active evidence-based and procedural actions are underway,” Nahapetyan added, stressing that the probe is comprehensive and impartial.
The March 1 case is a criminal investigation into the 2008 deadly post-election unrest in Yerevan. Ex-President Levon Ter-Petrosyan was rallying with his supporters in Yerevan against what he described as rigged elections that named Serzh Sargsyan president-elect. 10 persons, including two police officers, were killed during mass disturbances and clashes between demonstrators and security forces on March 1, 2008.
