Former President Robert Kocharyan, who was arrested earlier today as part of a corruption probe, felt unwell, prompting emergency medical assistance to be called. High blood pressure was recorded, and he was subsequently transferred to a medical facility for further examination, the Anti-Corruption Committee said.
Robert Kocharyan’s office chief Bagrat Mikoyan said that the former president had recently undergone a medical procedure, adding that, based on this, the doctor deemed further examination necessary at this time.
Kocharyan was arrested for the purpose of filing an investigators’ motion with the court seeking detention as a preventive measure.
