Syrian leader asks Putin to hand over Assad – Al Arabiya

Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa has officially asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to hand over deposed ruler Bashar al-Assad to be tried in Syria, Al Arabiya reported citing unnamed sources.

Bashar al-Assad has been living in Russia ever since fleeing Damascus during the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham offensive which ended his regime.
