Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has commented on the feud between the representatives of former President Robert Kocharyan and former President Serzh Sargsyan, who’ve been publicly arguing about how he rose to power.
In a statement, Pashinyan denied ‘being brought to power’, and underscored that the 2018 revolution brought the people to power.
“Two semi-worn out figures along with their entourage have been arguing about who brought me to power, demanding each other to tell the truth. You are the ones that ought to say who had brought you to power, you vote-rigging usurpers, who had never garnered the vote of the people of the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan said on social media.
In another statement, the PM underscored that he has not been “brought” to power, but the Velvet Revolution of 2018 actually brought the people to power.
“No one brought me to power. The 2018 non-violent, people’s velvet revolution brought the people to power. I am simply the lieutenant of the people’s power, and the people will replace me with whoever and whenever it wants,” Pashinyan said.
