Prime Minister Pashinyan attends opening of 19th Francophonie Summit

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 4, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, currently on a working visit to France, participated in the opening ceremony of the 19th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie in Villers-Cotterêts. This year's Francophonie Summit is being held in France for the first time in 33 years, with more than 100 high-ranking guests in attendance.

According to the PM's office, the high-ranking guests were welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron, his wife Brigitte Macron, and the Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (IOF), Louise Mushikiwabo.

Following this, a joint photo-taking ceremony was held for the leaders of the member states.

During the opening of the summit, speeches were delivered by French President Emmanuel Macron, the President of Tunisia, Kais Saied, and the IOF Secretary- General Louise Mushikiwabo. The presidency of the International Organization of La Francophonie was officially transferred from Tunisia to France during this event.
