PM appoints new deputy economy minister

Tigran Gasparyan has been appointed deputy minister of economy by a decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The decree was published by the government on Wednesday.

Gasparyan, 30, holds a master’s degree in Peace and Security Studies from the University of Hamburg, earned in 2019 in cooperation with the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, which he graduated from with honors in 2017.

From 2024 to 2026, Gasparyan served as director of government relations (GR) for Yandex in Armenia and Georgia. In 2025-2026, he was director of the Center for Demographic Research and Education at Yerevan State University. In 2026, he also worked as a short-term consultant in public administration for the World Bank.

Earlier, from 2022 to 2024, he worked as a public and business management consultant at Ameria CJSC. From 2019 to 2021, he served as an adviser to a faction in the National Assembly on a voluntary basis while pursuing his master’s studies at the University of Hamburg. He previously worked at Alfa Bank and KPMG, as well as in business development and strategy at BAAO, a financial consulting company.
