Team Armenia head coach vows to host 2023 EWF European Weightlifting Championships with “great honor and hospitality”

ABOVYAN, MARCH 1, ARMENPRESS. The head coach of the Armenian national weightlifting team Vigen Khachatryan has said that Armenian weightlifters are looking forward to the 2023 EWF European Weightlifting Championships which will be hosted by Yerevan. He described the upcoming championships as an “exclusive” event.
“We started our training camp this year back in January,” Khachatryan told ARMENPRESS. “Hosting the European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan is very important for all of us, coaches, athletes and fans. It’s going to be a real celebration. We will host the European championships with great honor and hospitality.”
The 2023 EWF European Weightlifting Championships will take place in mid-April in Yerevan.
Khachatryan said Team Armenia will compete at the event with great honor.
Meanwhile, three U17 weightlifters will travel to Albania to compete at the 2023 World Youth Weightlifting Championships. The young athletes are training together with adults at the training camp.
