Armenian military delegation visits Lithuania

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 7, ARMENPRESS. Major General Andranik Makaryan, Head of the Combat Training Department of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, led a delegation on a visit February 4-6 to Lithuania, the defense ministry said.

The delegation had a meeting with Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, Chief of the Defence Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

The sides discussed issues related to defense cooperation between Armenia and Lithuania.

Major General Makaryan praised the current level of cooperation, particularly Lithuania’s assistance in the process of establishing a professional sergeant system in Armenia.

The Armenian delegation also held a meeting with Brigadier General GintautasZenkevičius, Commander of the Lithuanian military’s training and doctrine.

The Armenian side was briefed on the structure, military exercise organization and vision of development of the Lithuanian military.

Major General Makaryan’s delegation also visited a military sergeant academy where they were briefed on the education process.

The sides agreed to continue cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
