Peruvian Ambassador presents credentials to President Sargsyan

YEREVAN, MAY 12, ARMENPRESS. Newly appointed Ambassador of Peru (residence in Moscow) to Armenia Luis Benjamin Chimoy Arteaga presented his credentials to President Sargsyan on May 12.

The President’s Office told ARMENPRESS President Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador on starting his diplomatic mission in Armenia, wished success and expressed hope that due to the Ambassador’s active work it will be possible to boost the mutually beneficial partnership of the two countries during the coming years.

The President emphasized that despite the geographic distance, Armenia has developed very warm and strong ties with several South American countries, including Peru, which was also contributed by the hospitable attitude of those countries for a part of the Armenian people who found refuge in South America after surviving the genocide in the beginning of the previous century.

The Peruvian Ambassador thanked the President for the reception and reassured that he will work diligently for the improvement and development of the Armenian-Peruvian bilateral relations.

The sides both agreed that the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between Armenia and Peru is an important milestone for enhancing and reconsidering the friendly relations between the two countries.

The parties also discussed the possibilities of enhancing the Armenian-Peruvian partnership in various sectors.

The President and the Ambassador also exchanged views on regional issues and developments.
