Ararat Mirzoyan meets UNESCO director-general

Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan met UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany on the sidelines of the leaders’ summit on biodiversity.

According to a statement from the Armenian ministry, the two discussed cooperation between Armenia and UNESCO, particularly in education, culture and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Mirzoyan stressed the importance Armenia attached to active participation in UNESCO programmes and to the organisation’s initiatives.

UNESCO’s role in strengthening mutual trust and promoting regional cooperation was also highlighted.
