Chinese citizens can obtain Armenia’s visa online

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Online application system for obtaining Armenia’s visa will be available for the citizens of China.

“Armenpress” reports the respective decision was approved at the Government session.

Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said the decision is related with the sharp increase of the number of Chinese citizens visiting Armenia since 2015.

“70% increase has been recorded in 2015 compared to the previous year, and in the 5 months of 2016 compared to the same period of 2015 80% increase has been recorded. There are almost no rejection cases of providing visas for the Chinese citizens”, the Deputy FM said.

Currently the main difficulty on providing Armenian visa for the Chinese citizens is related with the geographical sizes of the country which creates obstacles for the Chinese citizens living far from the capital.

Providing a chance to the Chinese citizens to use E-VISA system can be an effective way to solve this issue. This, in its turn, will contribute to increasing the number of Chinese citizens visiting Armenia.
