The President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to Aram I -the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia - on the reconstruction of the institution “Bird’s nest” and creation of the museum, as well as the 20th anniversary of his enthronement at Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia and the Blessing Ceremony of the Holy Chrism. As Armenpress was informed from the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the Office of the President, the President said in his message:
“For centuries the Holy See of Cilicia has sacredly performed its duty towards God, The Armenian Apostolic Church, the Homeland and all the Armenians. The years of your pastorate coincided with the hard, difficult and responsible years of the creation of Armenia's Independence.
With your indefatigable work, your wisdom of a great patriot, notable scholar, with your full devotion of a spiritual leader, you guide the religious across the world.
In this century of globalization you give soberness and strength to Armenian community organizations, contribute to the retention of Armenian traditions, establishing bridges among different Armenian segments for the welfare of the religious, for fostering the union of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora, the development of Armenian state-church ties and the realization of our national objectives.
By your guidance, the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia became the most powerful centre for the protection of the Armenian Cause.
Of particular importance are your efforts and invincible will to protect the rights of the Armenians on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.”
