Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance on holding Pan-Armenian Games on a high level

YEREVAN, JUNE 17, ARMENPRESS. On June 17 President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan convened a consultation meeting, which was attended by the members of organizing committee of 6th Pan-Armenian Summer Games. The process of organization and preparatory works, as well as activities to be finished before the opening of Pan-Armenian Games on August 2 were discussed.

As Armenpress was informed by the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media, Ishkhan Zakaryan, the president of the Control Chamber of the Republic of Armenia and President of International Committee of Pan-Armenian Games (president of organization committee) reported that the grand opening will take place in the Republic Stadium and the closing ceremony will be held on August 13 in Liberty Square. The games will be held in Yerevan, Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-KarabakhRepublic, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Abovyan and Artashat. According to by law, the city teams will participate in Pan-Armenian Games.

The president of organizing committee presented the sports included in the Games, requests received for each of them, as well as the number of cities and attendants pending for request. The requests will be processed after July 15, the deadline of accepting requests. The attendees of the consultation meeting were presented the chronicle of Pan-Armenian Games from 1999 onwards, the condition of sports facilities, as well as the work envisaged to be carried out by ministries and departments.

President Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance on holding Pan-Armenian Games on a high level and gave appropriate directives. The president also mentioned that 6 Pan-Armenian Games are held within the framework of events dedicated to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide and require maximum efforts from state bodies and those in charge of the event in order to organize and held the Games properly.
