YEREVAN, 15 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Genocide recognition by Germany will be of a certain improtance for the international recognition process of the Armenian Genocide, for which there are also historical prerequisites.

On April 15, the Professor of the Armenian history department of the Yerevan State University, candidate of the Historical Sciences Ashot Hayruni expressed such an opinion in a meeting with journalists. "First of all I would like to emphasize from those prerequisites the resolution adopted by Bundestag on the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, in which the shared-responsibility of Germany is underlined in the issue of the implementation of the Armenian Genocide. This means that there literally is noted, that the German government has to face with the issue of its shared-responsibility”, as “Armenpress” reports, Hayruni highlighted.

Historians pointed out that there were all positive basis weeks and months ago, that only one step remains from the resolution adopted by the Bundestag to publish a new resolution, where the Armenian Genocide is recognized and condemned. Moreover, it has been for weeks that the German society gets proper information about the Armenian Genocide by the media. “It is clear, that the factions which are included in Bundestag, will represent drafts and as a result of discussions a new draft will be adopted,” Hayruni noted.
