YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS: Head of the Catholicosate of the Great House ofCiliciaAram Ihas participated in the meeting of the religious leaders of the Middle East with U.S. President Barack Obama, Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) told Armenpress.
During the meeting Barack Obama stressed that the USA accepts the historical role of the Christian communities in the region and the importance of defending the Christians and religious minorities. He reconfirmed the USA’s commitment to fight against the Islamists who extend terrorists attacks in Iraq and Syria. The U.S. President said that in the fight against the Islamists the USA will collaborate with its partners of the region.
