Serzh Sargsyan's official visit to Austria

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS. Today in the evening President Serzh Sargsyan is leaving for an official visit to the Republic of Austria. In the frames of the visit the meeting of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the Austrian President Heinz Fischer is scheduled, followed by the talks in expanded format with the participation of the official delegations, after which documents aimed at the deepening of Armenian- Austrian cooperation in a number of areas will be signed. The Presidents of Armenia and Austria will summarize the results of the negotiations at a joint press conference. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the President’s Staff, in Vienna Armenia’s President will also meet with the President of the Austrian National Council Barbara Prammer, the AustrianFederalChancellorWerner Faymann, Vienna'sMayor MichaelHäupl, Archbishop of Vienna, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn. President Serzh Sargsyan will visit the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, where with President Heinz Fischer will participate in the opening of the Armenian-Austrian Economic Forum, and before that, he will meet with the President of Federal Economic Chamber Christoph Leitl.

Armenia’s President will visit Vienna-based UN regional headquarters to meet with the UN representatives: Director-Generalof theUnited Nations OfficeinVienna and Executive Director of theUnited Nations OfficeonDrugsandCrime(UNODC) Yury Fedotov, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Director-General Lee Jong, Executive Secretary of thePreparatory Commissionfor theComprehensive Nuclear-Test-BanTreaty (CTBTO) Dr.Lassina Zerbo, International Atomic Energy Agency,IAEA DirectorGeneralYukiya Amano.

Serzh Sargsyan will participate in the opening ceremony of "Armenia" multifunctional (economic, financial, cultural, information) center, too.

In the frames of the visit the President will also pay tribute to the memory of Franz Werfel, Austrian writer and humanist, visiting and laying a wreath at his memorial. In St. Hripsimeh Armenian Apostolic Church he will commemorate the Armenian Genocide victims, will place flowers at the monument in the churchyard. Serzh Sargsyan is also expected to visit Vienna Mkhitarian Congregation.
