YEREVAN, JANUARY 30, ARMENPRESS. The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan had a meeting with the President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) Dean Spielmann in Strasbourg. Kristine Melkonyan, Adviser to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, informed “Armenpress” that the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan reaffirmed that the Republic of Armenia highly appreciates the role the European Court plays for the efficient protection of human rights and strengthening of democracy.
Among other things at the course of the meeting the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues regarding the direct cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the European Court, effective implementation of judicial precedents, and raising the professional capabilities of the prosecutors in that respect.
