Armenian Parliament adopts EU visa regime facilitation agreement

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS։The National Assembly unanimously adopted the agreement on the facilitation of the visa regime with the EU countries.Armenpress reports that the 108 present deputies voted for the agreement. It is intended also to reduce the price for the Schengen visa making it €35, as well as make it free of charge for some categories of people – children and pensioners.

Earlier the National Assembly deputy of the Republican Party of Armenia faction, the Co-Chairman of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Commission Samvel Farmanyan told Armenpress that the agreement on the visa facilitation with the European Union is one of the most important achievements of Armenia during the recent years. “This agreement proves that during the recent years the cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union has been efficient, the results of which are clearly seen”, - said Farmanyan. The Co-Chairman of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Commission highlighted the fact that the agreement is in the final stage both in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the European Parliament. “The validation of the agreement will enable our citizens to easily get a Schengen zone visa”, - said Samvel Farmanyan.
