YEREVAN, JUNE 17, ARMENPRESS: The price for the fish products is not expected to drop in the Republic of Armenia during the summer months in 2013. This was stated to Armenpress by the Chairman of the Association of Fish Farmers in Armenia Arthur Atoyan, emphasizing that the fish breeders currently produce as many fish products, as required by the local market.

Concerning the export of the fish products, the Chairman of the Association of Fish Farmers in Armenia noted that several exporting companies export only their own fish to the foreign market and the small economic entities have to organize the sale only in the local market. Thus, as stated by Arthur Atoyan, the small fishponds currently face critical period.

As informed by the Chairman of the Association of Fish Farmers in Armenia, about 57 fishponds were closed during the last two years in Armenia.

In April of the year of 2013 in the Republic of Armenia the volumes of fishing and fish breeding made 717,2 tons (by the way, the entire volume was realized), reducing by 15,2% in comparison with the same period of 2012.
