KAPAN, DECEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. During the whole night on December 25 it has been snowing al over Syunik Province and strong breeze caused hurricane in Sisian and Mountain Pass in Meghri. Regional road-constructing enterprises informed "Armenpress" that cleaning of Yerevan-Meghri interstate road has been in progress during the whole night. The road was also worked out by salt and sand. The snowstorm stopped only in the morning, notwithstanding the overcast weather still reigns in the province.
The highway passing through the region is open and passable, although the visibility is low because of fog. On the 36th km of Sisian-Yerevan highway has been closed by 22:24. A "VOLVO" truck (41 A 81710) slipped and closed the traffic part. The driver was a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ahmad Ismayili Rahalah, born in 1967, died in a car accident when he was hit by another car (263 LO 67), while getting out of the vehicle.
