The Syunik Airport has significantly facilitated the connection between the capital city of Yerevan and the town of Kapan in the country’s south, boosting tourism and economic development.
Passengers can fly from Yerevan to Kapan on board a 17-seat Let L-410 Turbolet aircraft five times per week. Tickets cost around 50$.
“There’s great demand for the flights, tickets have been sold out during the past one month,” said Karen Vardanyan, the CEO of Syunik Airport.
Vardanyan said the airport has great potential for development and is capable of serving international flights in the future. He said there have been many foreign tourists among the passengers of the Yerevan-Kapan flights.
The flights are operated by Novair. Aside from the regular flights, the operator also offers charter flights for individuals and corporations.
