YEREVAN, DECEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS. A ceremony in commemoration of 1988 Spitak earthquake innocent victims was held in Batumi on December 7.
The Department of Press, Information, and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informed "Armenpress" that Consul General of the Republic of Armenia to Batumi Aram Grigoryan, the Spiritual Leader of the Armenians of Adjara Deacon Ararat Gambalyan and a number of Armenians from Batumi spoke about the disaster, which happened 24 years ago, its consequences, the valuable support provided by the entire world and particularly by the fraternal Russian nation. Afterwards, the attendees put flowers at the Cross-stone.
Georgian rescuers and constructors, who had stretched a helping hand to our nation during the days of disaster, also attended the ceremony.
