YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 3, ARMENPRESS: The number of juvenile beggars has reduced in the Republic during 2011. Speaking to reporters today deputy head of Armenia's Police Criminal Investigation Third Department Nelly Duryan said, if during the previous years their number was reaching 300, now their number sharply reduced to 16. "The works the Police have carried out with a number of ministries and international organizations must be of everyday nature so that a child will not appear in street," Duryan said. She noted that minor beggars appear mostly in Yerevan, Vanadzor and Gyumri. These children have been registered. Everyday work is being carried out with a parent of the child. There are cases when a child is forced to become beggar by the parent. In this case it is more right to work with the child.

It is very important for a child to grow up in a family where he/she will not be in danger.
