Newly recruited border guards take oath of service

A swearing-in ceremony for newly recruited border guards was held at a unit of the Border Guard Troops of the National Security Service (NSS) of the Republic of Armenia.

The ceremony was attended by NSS Deputy Director Major General Davit Sanamyan, Border Guard Troops Commander Colonel Garik Muradyan, senior representatives of the command staff, officers, and parents.

Under the state flag and to the sounds of the national anthem, the young border guards took an oath to serve the Republic of Armenia with dedication and to be an unbreakable shield protecting and safeguarding the inviolability of the state border, assuring that they would live up to all the hopes and expectations placed in them.

The commander of the NSS Border Guard Troops congratulated the new recruits.

“From this moment on, as you join the large family of the Border Guard Troops, you should treat one another with brotherly love and respect, while continuing the good traditions that have been established. I am confident that you will serve the Republic of Armenia with full dedication and duly perform your service duties,” the Border Guard Troops commander said in his remarks.

The words of greeting and encouragement highlighted the importance and responsibility of keeping the state border secure, while the new recruits assured that they would honorably fulfill the tasks assigned to them and live up to all the hopes placed in them. During the ceremony, one of the recruits’ mothers spoke on behalf of the parents, conveying warm wishes.

The official part of the ceremony concluded with a ceremonial march accompanied by the military band and the border guards performing the national anthem.

Following the ceremony, NSS Deputy Director Davit Sanamyan and the command staff of the Border Guard Troops toured the military unit, familiarizing themselves with the living and service conditions of the personnel, as well as the armaments and logistical equipment.
