Irina Yolyan, a member of parliament from the opposition Strong Armenia faction, has failed to be elected chair of the parliamentary Committee on Territorial Administration and Environmental Protection in a secret ballot.
A total of 102 MPs participated in the vote, with one ballot declared invalid.
The votes were as follows: 38 MPs in favor and 63 against.
Yolyan was the faction’s second nominee after MP Davit Ghazinyan failed to win the confirmation vote.
