Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the country is in a strong geopolitical position and that there is now an opportunity to end the conflict in the Middle East on its own terms, Mehr reported.
“The war must end at some point. The best time to end it is now, when we are in a strong position, enjoy respect, and when the whole world acknowledges our victory and stresses that the United States, contrary to the rules, is attacking our schools, hospitals and infrastructure,” he said.
Pezeshkian stressed that the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States in June was honourable and that none of its provisions amounted to capitulation.
The Iranian president called for national unity, saying that in that case Iranians could not be destroyed.
