New digital platform to boost Armenia’s medical tourism

Armenia is developing medical tourism as part of the national tourism strategy.

Last year, the Tourism Committee organized a medical tourism conference, which included representatives from both public institutions and the private sector, as well as healthcare providers, insurance companies, and legal firms.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Armenian Tourism Committee Chairperson Lusine Gevorgyan noted that further progress will be made in this area during the current year.

“This year, in cooperation with the United Nations, we will hold another medical tourism conference. Specialists from countries with successful experience in this field will come to Armenia. This is a great opportunity for us,” said Lusine Gevorgyan.

To further develop the sector, a new digital tool will soon be launched. With the support of the Tourism Committee, a platform will be created where Armenian medical services and specialists will be accessible.

“High-quality medical services will be available in one place for tourists. This means that on a single platform, it will be possible to find a variety of medical services, the best licensed doctors, and also connect with insurers and tour operators to finalize agreements. The platform will feature a wide range of medical services, including complex surgeries,” said Lusine Gevorgyan, emphasizing that this approach will protect both doctors and tourists.
