Officials review progress of Armenia’s €120 million tourism infrastructure initiative

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Tourism Committee Chairperson Lusine Gevorgyan held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank and the Armenian Territorial Development Fund.

According to a readout from the ministry, the meeting focused on the progress of the Tourism and Regional Infrastructure Improvement Program (TRIP), as well as on issues related to improving its implementation mechanisms and enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of its processes.

Emphasizing the program’s role in developing tourism and modernizing regional infrastructure, the sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation to ensure the effective implementation of the planned measures.

The TRIP program envisages an investment of €120 million for the development of tourism clusters in Goris, Areni, Jermuk, Yeghegis, Dvin, Gyumri, and Dilijan. The program aims to promote wine, health, adventure, cultural, educational, and eco-tourism while enhancing Armenia’s tourism appeal and the competitiveness of its regions.
