Armenian Prime Minister, EU official discuss cooperation

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with a delegation led by Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Pashinyan welcomed the delegation’s visit to Armenia and emphasized the importance of the continued deepening of Armenia–European Union cooperation.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the European Union’s consistent support for strengthening democratic institutions in Armenia, promoting the rule of law, advancing economic development, and implementing reforms in the public administration system.
Gert Jan Koopman reaffirmed the European Commission’s readiness to continue supporting the reforms being carried out in Armenia and highlighted the progress made in expanding the EU–Armenia partnership. He stressed the importance of developing cooperation in the areas of economic resilience, digitalization, and infrastructure development.
During the meeting, the sides discussed ongoing Armenia–EU cooperation programs, as well as future initiatives aimed at expanding economic opportunities, improving the investment climate, and strengthening regional stability.
They also addressed regional developments and the peace agenda. PM Pashinyan presented the Armenian government’s positions aimed at establishing sustainable and lasting peace in the region.
The sides reaffirmed their mutual readiness to continue close cooperation.
