Prime Minister reviews conditions and upcoming projects at National Centre for Nuclear Medicine

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan and Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, visited the National Centre for Nuclear Medicine at the V. A. Fanarjyan National Centre of Oncology CJSC.

The Prime Minister toured the centre and reviewed the conditions created there and its upcoming projects, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

In 2025, the centre was re-equipped and expanded the scope of its activities. More than AMD 1.444 billion was invested from the state budget. More than AMD 36 million was allocated for partial renovation work at the centre, while equipment worth more than AMD 1.407 billion was purchased.

Thanks to investments from the state budget, the centre was equipped with a state-of-the-art digital PET/CT system, high-end ultrasound and mammography equipment, colonoscopy and colposcopy systems, as well as uninterruptible power supply equipment.

The National Centre for Nuclear Medicine is a specialised facility equipped with a cyclotron manufactured by the Belgian company IBA. As part of the centre’s development, relevant equipment has already been acquired through completed procurement procedures to advance theranostic medicine.

According to officials, the infrastructure and technological capabilities created at the centre provide important prerequisites for the further development of diagnostic and therapeutic applications of nuclear medicine, the use of new radiopharmaceuticals, the introduction of theranostic approaches and the development of relevant professional expertise.
