Speaker Rubinyan, UK Ambassador discuss strategic partnership

Speaker of Parliament Ruben Rubinyan held a meeting with UK Ambassador to Armenia Alexandra Cole.

The British Ambassador congratulated Rubinyan on his election as Speaker of Parliament.

According to a readout from the Parliament’s press service, the sides expressed satisfaction that relations between Armenia and the United Kingdom have made significant progress in recent years and are developing within the framework of a strategic partnership. In this context, they highlighted the importance of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership, as well as the United Kingdom’s support for and role in advancing democratic reforms, the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as bilateral relations.

The sides also discussed issues related to regional developments.

They emphasized the importance of further deepening and expanding cooperation between Armenia and the United Kingdom in political, economic, and other areas, as well as the continued development of interparliamentary cooperation.
