Bulgarian athlete wins world U20 triple jump title: BTA

Seventeen-year-old Bulgarian athlete Viktoria Angelova became world champion in the U20 triple jump competition held in Eugene, Oregon, United States, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reports.

Angelova jumped 13.91 metres in a 1.9 m/s wind to win the gold medal.

Romania’s Daria Vanceanu finished second with 13.70 metres, while Spain’s Ana Estrella de Leon won the bronze medal with a mark of 13.58 metres.

On July 19, Angelova also won the European U18 title in Rieti, Italy, with a result of 13.98 metres.

With Angelova’s gold medal, Bulgaria ranks among the top 15 countries at the championships.
