Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday that his administration has comprehensively discussed Iran’s concerns regarding the TRIPP project.
He added that Armenia is ready to maintain continuous dialogue with Iran on the matter.
Pashinyan reminded reporters that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Armenia on August 19, 2025—ten days after the Washington peace summit, where the TRIPP agreement was signed.
“We had a very thorough, long, and detailed discussion, and I believe we have provided answers to all questions. At the same time, we emphasized that if any questions arise in the future, we are ready to remain in continuous contact and respond to all of them,” the Prime Minister said.
Pashinyan stressed that the Republic of Armenia takes into account the opinions and concerns of its international partners during negotiation processes and seeks to achieve the most balanced solutions possible.
“During the discussions, we consider the views and concerns of our international partners and try, during negotiations, to reach as balanced solutions as possible, which I believe we have succeeded in doing in this case,” he added.
On January 14, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, expressed concern that the U.S. could use TRIPP “within the framework of its security policy.” However, he acknowledged that Armenia has reassured Iran that it will never become a source of threat to the country. “We continue to keep this issue in the spotlight,” the Iranian envoy said.
The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) is a connectivity project in Armenia, envisaged under the U.S.-brokered Armenian-Azerbaijani joint declaration signed in Washington, D.C. The project is expected to unlock strategic economic opportunities, create long-term benefits by promoting infrastructure investment, and enhance regional connectivity. TRIPP is part of the Crossroads of Peace project, with an Armenian-American joint enterprise expected to develop the route.
