Karen Giloyan has been named the new president of the Urartu basketball club. He previously held the position before his appointment as Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport in 2020, a role he served in until early 2025.
“Urartu basketball club announces that Karen Giloyan has once again assumed the position of club president. Under the new leadership, the team is preparing to present itself with fresh energy and approaches in the upcoming Armenia Basketball League A championship, which kicks off in November,” Urartu said in a statement.
“Our goal is to return the once high standing and reputation of Urartu, form a competitive team, and make sure the fans get exciting games. Together, I am sure we can achieve new successes,” Giloyan said.
