UNGA: Armenian PM hails foreign policy achievements in building new global ties

The geography of Armenia’s diplomatic relations has noticeably expanded in recent years, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in his address during the General Debate of the UN General Assembly.

“Since gaining independence over 30 years ago, the Republic of Armenia had no diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. I am happy to note that diplomatic relations have now been established between our countries, and dialogue is taking place,” he said.

Pashinyan also highlighted Armenia’s traditional partnerships, emphasizing their visible development.

“Our dialogue and brotherhood with Iran and Georgia is becoming more visible. These relations—alongside our ties with Türkiye and Azerbaijan—are extremely important in viewing the South Caucasus region as a peaceful, stable, and developing environment. In this context, I attach importance to the ‘3+3’ format, which serves as a key platform for regional dialogue and for continuing our traditional engagement with Russia, although we also constantly maintain active bilateral contacts with Russia,” PM Pashinyan noted.
He further mentioned the recently established strategic partnership with China and Armenia’s growing political and trade ties with India.

“Our balanced and balancing foreign policy has opened new horizons for us. We are strengthening our relations with Japan, Mongolia, and the countries of the Middle East and Central Asia,” Pashinyan said.
