Armenia concludes two-year tenure on IAEA Board of Governors

Armenia has completed its two-year membership on the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the foreign ministry has said in a statement.

On September 11, Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the IAEA, Ambassador Andranik Hovhannisyan, delivered a concluding statement, noting that it had been both an honor and a responsibility for Armenia to serve on the Board.

He highlighted Armenia's contribution to the Agency’s work and its commitment to advancing the IAEA’s mandate.

Hovhannisyan expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Vice President of the Board during the past year.

He underlined that Armenia, guided by diplomacy, dialogue, and mutual respect, remains committed to the goals and principles of the IAEA and will continue to be an active supporter of the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

According to the statement, Hovhannisyan also thanked the Chairman of the Board of Governors, the IAEA Director General, member states and the Secretariat for their support and joint work.
