Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s wife Anna Hakobyan has debunked a fake news article that claimed she vacationed at a luxury resort hotel in the Turkish city of Antalya and spent over 100,000 euros for a few days.

The report was published by the Turkish Sozcu newspaper, claiming that Hakobyan vacationed in Antalya from June 19 to June 22.

In a statement on Facebook, Hakobyan branded the report as a “fairytale.”

She said she actually spent those days in various towns across Syunik Province in Armenia together with her daughters, and released photos from the trip.

Hakobyan said together with her daughters they spent time at Harsnadzor Eco Resort, Wings of Tatev, and stayed at the HarMar hotel in Goris. The next day they visited Kapan for sightseeing and dined at AntariProject and Caffè 48. Her daughters then visited Meghri, while Hakobyan said she traveled back to Yerevan to prepare for her Getting Educated is Fashionable campaign which was due to take place the next day in Maralik. She said she spent Sunday at home.

Hakobyan lambasted “ignorant” journalists in Armenia for spreading the fake news without fact checking.
