Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he discussed with his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico on Monday in Yerevan the bilateral agenda and prospects of developing ties.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Fico in Yerevan, Pashinyan said he accepted his counterpart’s invitation to pay a visit to Slovakia.
“Such high-level mutual visits boost the political dialogue between our friendly countries, and I would like to thank Prime Minister Fico for the invitation to visit Slovakia. I am gladly accepting the invitation and we already managed to agree that the upcoming visit would be the continuation of this visit, in order for us to have the chance to address the agenda items that we have started to form,” Pashinyan said.
PM Pashinyan lauded Slovakia’s support to Armenia’s closer ties with the EU.
“I have to underscore that this visit is a very strong testament to the active political dialogue between our countries. I’d like to thank Mr. Prime Minister for the support that Slovakia has been providing to Armenia in the recent years. Particularly, the presence of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia, where Slovakia had a significant support, as well as in terms of Armenia’s participation in the European Peace Facility programs. The visa liberalization process with the EU is currently in active negotiations phase, and we are grateful for Slovakia’s support in this issue too,” Pashinyan said.
He said the two sides have agreed to focus on several directions that can open new prospects for cooperation.
