Alen Simonyan presented the “Crossroads of Peace” to the U.S. Congress delegation

According to the statement from the department of Public Relations and Communications of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan stated during the reception of the Congress delegation led by US Senator Roger Wicker on July 5.

The meeting in a small group was followed by a meeting of the extended group, which was also attended by Armenian National Assembly deputies.

Welcoming the arrival of the delegation in Armenia, the Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly thanked the United States for its continued support of Armenia's democratic vision.

"The United States has consistently supported Armenia's democratic vision and has made significant contributions to strengthening democratic institutions, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights in Armenia. In this context, we attach great importance to the role of the United States in the process of establishing peace in our region and highly appreciate the United States' support for Armenia's sovereignty, independence, democracy, territorial integrity, and inviolability of its borders based on the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991," said Alen Simonyan.

The discussions focused on the peace treaty, Armenian-Turkish relations, the return of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, and the preservation of the Armenian historical and cultural heritage of Nagorno-Karabakh. The American guests were presented with the Crossroads of Peace project developed by the Armenian government.
