Yerevan and Tehran discuss strengthening friendly ties and expanding cooperation

Yerevan First Deputy Mayor Armen Pambukhchyan received a delegation led by Tehran Deputy Mayor Davoud Goudarzi, who is visiting Yerevan. The meeting addressed issues relating to bilateral cooperation, according to a statement issued by Yerevan Municipality’s Information Department.

The sides discussed the ninth Summit for Subnational Governments and Cities and the Tehran mayor’s visit to Yerevan. Armen Pambukhchyan emphasised the importance of the Tehran mayor’s forthcoming visit to Armenia for COP17, at the invitation of the Yerevan mayor.

“The discussions also covered opportunities to strengthen friendly ties between the sister cities of Yerevan and Tehran and expand further cooperation in urban governance, public transport and traffic, urban infrastructure development, architecture, urban planning and urban greening,” the statement said.
