Resistance Movement to hold “rally of unity” on November 5 in Yerevan

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 31, ARMENPRESS. The opposition parties united under the Resistance Movement will organize a rally on November 5 at Yerevan’s France Square.

One of the leaders of the movement, Member of Parliament Ishkhan Saghatelyan from the opposition Hayastan faction and representative of the ARF Supreme Body, said the rally will be “a rally of unity, not around any individual or political party, but around Artsakh’s sovereignty, Armenia’s territorial integrity and security.”

Saghatelyan said the event will be “the Armenian people’s rally”, and that by participating in it the people will record that their homeland is not for bargain.

The opposition MP said that Armenia, Artsakh and the Armenian people are in a historic and crucial period of time.

He also publicly addressed the leader of the Armenian Church, Catholicos Karekin II. “I’d like to address the Catholicos, expecting his blessing and support for this highly important initiative because this isn’t a political party rally, this is the rally of the Armenian people with an Armenian agenda. I am also addressing our intellectuals, the academic community, so that they call on the people to participate in the rally at this crucial moment, and show their will and opinion,” Saghatelyan said.

Saghatelyan also called on political parties to unite.
