The Armenian side highly appreciates the respect for Armenia's borders recorded in the joint statement of the presidents of Armenia and Bulgaria dedicated to bilateral relations, which should be understood in the context of the latest aggression, as well as the fact that Bulgaria supports the sending of an EU observation mission, ARMENPRESS reports Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan said while summarizing the meetings of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan on the first day of his state visit to Bulgaria, emphasizing that Bulgaria supports the fact-finding observation civilian mission of the EU, which will observe the situation in Armenia and in that respect Bulgaria's position is clear and satisfying.

"The discussion continued during the working lunch with the Prime Minister, where the emphasis was also placed on the transport cooperation, in particular, the implementation of the very important "Persian Gulf-Black Sea" project. Both Bulgaria and Armenia are inclined to continue this transport cooperation, as it is one of the important sectors of both countries. There was also a meeting with the Mayor of Sofia, and since Sofia and Yerevan are sister cities, here we have a wide field of cooperation," said the deputy minister.

He emphasized that the rich history, culture, and common values of Armenia are discussed within the framework of the meetings, since Bulgaria is one of Armenia's traditional partners in Europe. And it is no coincidence that respect for Armenia's borders is emphasized, which should be understood in the context of the latest aggression.

"The development of our economic, commercial, cultural and all kinds of cooperation in all spheres was discussed with President Rumen Radev. Special emphasis was placed on cooperation with the European Union, because Bulgaria is one of our traditional supporters, including as a NATO member country, and at the moment it also plays a big role in security issues," said Paruyr Hovhannisyan.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that today is the first day of President Vahagn Khachaturian's state visit to the Republic of Bulgaria, which is being held in connection with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Bulgaria. The political statement signed by the presidents of Armenia and Bulgaria was emphasized, perhaps the first time such a declarative document has been signed, it is not only dedicated to the 30th anniversary, but also points out all the areas in which the two countries are committed to deepening relations, and as stated in the declaration, to reach a new level of quality.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paruyr Hovhannisyan noted that the visit was organized at the highest level. There is still a full day and a half and it is expected that the President will return to Yerevan with good results.
