Voting on the candidacy of Strong Armenia faction MP Liana Manukyan for the post of Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs has concluded in the National Assembly. Lilit Minasyan, Chair of the Counting Commission, announced the results of the vote.
“Of the 105 members of the National Assembly, 96 took part in the vote. Fifty-seven MPs voted in favour of Liana Manukyan and 39 voted against,” she said.
The candidates initially nominated for chair of three standing committees selected by the Strong Armenia faction — the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, the Standing Committee on European Integration, and the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Environmental Protection — failed to secure enough votes on the first attempt.
Hayk Farmanyan, who was nominated by the Strong Armenia faction for the post of Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, received 40 votes in favour and 61 against. Strong Armenia nominated Liana Manukyan for the post on its second attempt.
