Deputy Mayor of Yerevan condemns use of force by police against parents of fallen soldiers in Yerablur Pantheon

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. Newly-appointed Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Tigran Avinyan has condemned the use of force by the police against the parents of fallen servicemen in Yerablur Military Pantheon on September 21.

“I hope the persons who are guilty will be punished. What had happened is condemnable. Investigation is underway, and it will reveal”, he told reporters at a briefing.

As for the issue of shelters connected with the current situation on the border, Tigran Avinyan said that this matter is crucial. “Intensive work is being done with the district heads to assess the condition of shelters and inform the residents where their shelter is in the building and what it needs to be equipped with”, he said.

The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan said that he will do everything to solve the problems in Yerevan so that it residents live in the city they have dreamed of.

“I will have a discussion with the representatives of the fields I coordinate. I will first of all focus on district administration where there is an important coordination and control work to do”, he said, adding that the city needs new, technological solutions.
