Bills on Armenia's accession to Customs Union to appear in Parliament in March

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 20, ARMENPRESS. Due to the accession to the Customs Union Armenia will enter a market of 170 million without customs duties, customs administration, and additional difficulties. The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Artak Zakaryan stated this in a conversation with “Armenpress”.

Among other things the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Artak Zakaryan underscored that the bills on legislative changes and international agreements regarding Armenia’s accession to Customs Union will be introduced in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia by the end of March. “The Customs Union’s roadmap has already been approved. It’s an action plan, which represents international agreements to be signed by Armenia,” Artak Zakaryan noted.

In the result of the negotiations on September 3, 2013 in Moscow the Presidents Sargsyan and Putin confirmed the aim of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation in the direction of further development of economic integration processes in the Eurasian territory. In that context the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced about the Armenia's decision to join the Customs Union and the necessity of implementation corresponding steps for that aim and in future about participating in formation of the Eurasian economic union. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed his support to the abovementioned decision of Armenia and informed about the readiness of the Russian side to support the process.
