Quake hit Iran felt in Armenia

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS: Seismic Protection service's seismological network has recorded 5.7 magnitude earthquake on 03: 58 pm by local time, on November 16. The epicenter of the earthquake is located 44 kilometers to the north-west of Ahar city, Iran. Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress, the quake's hypocenter was at 15 kilometers beneath the surface. The intensity in the epicenter zone amounted 6 points. The epicenter geographic coordinators are northern latitude 38.58 ˚, western longitude 46.82 ˚. Accordingly to the preliminary data the underground shaking was also felt in a number of Armenia's residencies namely Kajaran and Kapan cities where it measured magnitude 2-3.
